Sara and Tal were living in Israel while Tal was finishing medical school, and planning their wedding with the help of their family and friends. They had met when Sara was a freshman in high school and had known immediately this was meant to be. It doesn’t happen very often that I don’t meet my couples in person before their big day. Even if the initial consult is done online, I always try to schedule follow-up visits or an engagement session so we get to know each other better. These two though were so sweet and easy to talk to that we immediately connected over Skype.
While I had photographed Jewish weddings before, this was my first more traditional Jewish wedding. On our first conversation over Skype, we went over all that would be happening during their wedding day. The more we kept talking the more excited I became. I was fascinated by the Tisch and Bedeken ceremonies especially, and they didn’t disappoint. The excitement prior to the first look, the anticipation and the utter pouring of emotions when they saw each other for the first time was indescribable. The father’s blessing was also especially sweet to witness and capture. There was so much joy and happiness in the air and everyone was cheering, dancing and making certain their day would be one to remember.
What a blessing to be surrounded by so much love and joy on their most special day.
Their wedding took place at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA. Sara had 16 bridesmaids and Tal had 20 groomsmen. Add to that 4 most adorable little ring bearers and it was by far the largest and one of the most fun wedding parties I have ever photographed.
I absolutely adored these bridesmaids dresses in 50 shades of gray… pun intended. The slightly different hues and textures were perfect for the large wedding party as it allowed for a cohesive look while still keeping them each very unique.
The first look with her dad was so beautiful. Sara was the baby in the family and the last child to get married, so this moment was especially emotional for him.
Sara and Tal: I’m so incredibly honored to have had the pleasure of capturing your wedding. Congratulations again and hope that you love your wedding photos as much as I do!
